Amanda's Birthday Weekend

We are back from a fun filled weekend in Tallahassee! Friday night we did some grillin' and chillin' with Amanda's family and Calvin and Duane. Saturday Amanda and I did some shopping and I got Camryn her first FSU onesie, it is so adorable. Amanda's birthday party was a lot of fun. She had the bartender make us mock-tails, which I think were sparkling cider and fruit juice. Also, there were three preggos at the party, so in addition to our party favors we also got bunny dolls for the babies. Now Cammie has her first doll!

Amanda and her family are always so welcoming and fun to be around! We are already planning to spend new years together so our babies can bond and we can have some real cocktails. I'm sure we'll see each other before that, but new years will probably be the first time we see each other with both babies born! I hope they will be really close friends!

Here are some photos from our trip:

Looking extra short next to Calvin and Duane.

Whoa! An accidental belly shot! Definitely getting bigger, and I still look really short :-)

Introducing....

Camryn Makenna Gary!

We've chosen our little girl's name! Of course if when she is born, the name doesn't fit, we can always change it, but from this picture, I think she looks like a Camryn. Bert and I have spent the last few days calling her Camryn and Cammie and it just seems to fit! We chose her name by taking the first letter of family members that were special to us and have passed away. The "C" is in honor of Bert's dad, Charles, and the "M" is in honor of my grandfather, Milton.

I have started playing some music for her before I go to bed, for just about 20 minutes. I heard that if you play it now, that after she is born it will be soothing to her.

Well we leave tomorrow for Tallahassee, and Bert is picking me up from work at noon, which means I need to get packing! Maybe I'll stop by Garnet and Gold and get some cute Seminole baby clothes!

I'm halfway there!

At my appointment on Friday I measured 20 weeks, which put me a few days ahead of where I thought I was. My due date is still September 7th, because the doctor said the date is just approximate anyway. The baby is now the length of a banana! Ah, I remember when she was only the size of a kidney bean. How fast they grow :-)

The weekend was a lot of fun. We went to babies r us and registered on Saturday. We picked out some really cute stuff! We also took a few minutes to look at the baby clothes and they are so cute! Bert loves little baby shoes, they are just so tiny! My uncle offered to get us our glider chair off the registry, which we sat in at the store, and it was so comfy. I have a feeling many hours will be spent rocking in that chair! Also my brother Jason offered to get us the stroller, and I have a feeling my sister is buying everything girly that crosses her path! Bert and I really appreciate it!

Yesterday Bert and I went to "A Taste of Forsyth", which is where a bunch of local restaurants and other vendors get together and you get to sample their food for a small price. It was pretty good! There were a few restaurants that we hadn't tried before there, and we got to listen to some rockin country music. Good ol Forsyth County!

This weekend we are heading down to Tallahassee for Amanda's 30th. It's gonna be so much fun! It's always awesome to see her and her family and we'll also get to see Calvin and Duane, which is ALWAYS a treat!

BIG NEWS TODAY!

Today we found out that we are having a little girl! I was pretty convinced that we were having a boy, so I was a little surprised, but SO happy! I can't wait for her to get here!!

The doctor said everything looks great, and the baby is healthy and of course that is the most important thing!

Bert is very excited and happy but he is already thinking about how he will keep the boys away from her. I told him she is "negative five months old" and not to worry about that for a long time. Must be a guy thing.

I will post the new sonogram pictures soon. We do have a favorite name, and once we decide its "the one", we'll share the news!!

My Pride and Joy - As Far As Plants Go...

This is our azalea, we have had it for over two years and it's still alive and thriving! This is a miracle with me around, as I have found ways to kill trees, a cactus and bamboo, which are all pretty much impossible to kill. It's only in full bloom for a week or two, so I wanted to get a picture of it this year, it's really pretty.

My New Favorite Weekend Getaway Spot!

Bert and I went to Savannah this past weekend to spend some time together before Squiggy comes, and just to get out of town and relax. We had the best time. Our hotel was right in the middle of downtown, so everything we wanted to see was a ten minute walk from us, tops. We took a trolley tour around the city and soaked up some history, and saw some amazing architecture. We also took a ghost tour, which took us to a bunch of spooky locations including the Sorrel-Weed House which was featured on the TV show Ghosthunters. Bert is really into paranormal stuff so I think this was the highlight of his trip. We walked around Forsyth Park, and did some people watching. The art school is nearby so there were plenty of interesting people to watch! We went to some great restaurants including Paula Deen's place - The Lady and Sons, Belford's, and Firefly Cafe. At Paula Deen's restaurant we met her son, Jamie Deen, who was very personable and charming.

On our third night we remembered that the only Bennigan's left in Georgia is in Savannah so we went there for dinner. We both love that place! It was sooo good!

We also spent a few hours on nearby Tybee Island. We had lunch at AJ's Dockside restaurant, and then we sat on the pier, to watch people fish. We saw a guy catch a baby hammerhead, and a bunch of other people catch small fish. I really could have stayed in Savannah a few more days...

I got my weekly email from babycenter.com today and they said Squiggy is the size of a large tomato. It also says that Squiggy is starting to hear sounds, so I Bert and I have been trying to talk to him/her recently. I have been feeling some more little kicks, usually 2-3 times a day. I don't mind them at all, they don't hurt and it reminds me that the baby is healthy! Only 4 more days till we find out the gender. I am still guessing it a boy, but I took a quiz based on the old wives tales and it said that it's a girl! I guess it's a 50/50 chance!

Here are some pics from our wonderful weekend:

Holy heartburn!

Heartburn has really been kicking in over the past few days, and Tums will work for a little while, but it comes back after about an hour or two. I am going to ask my doctor if I can take something a little stronger at my next appointment.
Sixteen days until we find out if Squiggy is a boy or girl!! Bert and I are so excited!
