A lot to say...

15 weeks!! Already??

I get emails every now and again from a website that tells you about where your baby should be, what they should be doing, etc. at their age. When I got my email yesterday it said "your baby at 15 weeks" and I thought they sent me the wrong week. I had to count backwards on my calendar about five times until I actually believed that Camryn is 15 weeks old! She is wonderful and I love her more than I ever even knew was possible. She had her first cold/fever the other day and I was so worried I actually cried! I just felt so bad for her, her cries were so pitiful and they can't really tell you what's wrong! She is much better now, no fever since Wednesday, and she is in much better spirits.

We celebrated Chanukah by making potato latkes and lighting the menorah. In the future I'd like to get Camryn a gift for each night, but this year we just did one. Bert picked out a beautiful music box and had it engraved with her Hebrew name. He didn't even tell me about it, so it was a surprise for me too! I got Bert Super Mario for Wii, and I got an I.O.U! Ha! He says he has something in the works!

We are eagerly awaiting Christmas together next week. We are looking forward to spending time together, cooking and eating, and just enjoying ourselves! On the day after Christmas Grandma Jennine and Grandpa Jim are coming up for a few days to visit! Fun! Then we are off to Tally for New Years! Even though this time of year can be hectic and overwhelming, it's also lots of fun.

Camryn is growing like a weed and is just shy of 14lbs. She is starting to wear her "six month" clothes and is starting to wear size 2 diapers. She "talks" to us, which is so cute. I have a video of this that I need to post. She is just an all around happy baby, and we are so grateful to have her in our lives!

Tis the season to be busy...

Wow I have been horrible about keeping my blog updated lately. It's so hard to get "quiet time" sometimes- and when I do, I usually want to veg and read my celebrity gossip or catch up on my DVRs!

Things are going great in the Gary household. We recently enjoyed our first extended trip to Asheville with the baby for Thanksgiving. We met my mom, Frank, Jay, Rebecca and the Staum family in a beautiful seven bedroom luxury home on Black Mountain. We went to the Biltmore House, walked around downtown Asheville, and went to a temple and got Camryn her hebrew name. It's Kayla Yochana. She was so good and sweet during her naming it was adorable. Then the 15 of us went to lunch and out little Kayla Yochana had her first restaurant meltdown. She screamed and screamed while I tried to hide with her in the bathroom. Still don't know what she was so mad about.

Camryn is still smiling away and you can just tell by looking at her how alert she is. She is rolling on her side and sometimes in the morning she is completely turned around in her crib. She is holding items, but we mostly have to place them in her hands. And speakng of hands, she always has them in her mouth and is covered in drool. She also set her own personal record by sleeping 12 1/2 hours straight last night. I hope she keeps that up!

We are getting geared up for the holidays, and are 95% decorated. We just have to finish putting ornaments on the tree and we will be all set. I am excited to celebrate Christmas and Chanukah this year since Chanukah usually gets the shaft. I am happy that Camryn will be celebrating both holidays, just like I did when I was little!

Why I love mornings...

Little Chunky Monkey at Two Months!

Camryn has hit the two month mark, and I can see her growing before my eyes! She is starting to get those wonderful baby pudge rolls! She is now 11lbs, 9oz and 23" long-which is about the 65th percentile for her age. She is smiling up a storm. She smiles with her whole body, when she is happy, she squeaks and coos and kicks her legs. It makes the cries, the poopy diapers, the middle of the night wake ups all worth it, just to see those smiles! She had her two month shots the other day. She was pretty crabby for a day or two, but she is back to her old self now.

I just finished my first week back to work, and it's a real adjustment. I am glad to be working with my awesome customers, and making money again, but sometimes it's tricky when Camryn is being fussy and I have a customer on the phone. Luckily my customers are all understanding, and Camryn has mostly cooperated. I tell her if she wants nice things, she has to let mommy make some money :-)

Camryn had her first overnight trip this past weekend to our neighbors Scott and Gina's cabin. First we stopped at a winery for lunch, and went up to the cabin and relaxed. It was nice to get away. You would have thought we were going away for a month with how full our car was!

Bert and I are so happy and are loving our life with our sweet baby. He is a great hands on dad and I can't give him enough credit. He takes her out on Saturday mornings so they can have daddy/daughter time and I can get some much needed extra sleep!

My Little Girly Girl

I can barely believe that my little peanut will be eight weeks old tomorrow! Part of me feels like she is still so "new" and part of me can't remember life without her. I am sad that my maternity leave is over on Friday but feel really lucky to get to work from home starting Monday, so I will still get to be home with her.

She is definitley a little girly girl. She loves a warm bath-which is funny because she she used to scream when we put her in the tub, and now she loves it in there and screams when we take her out! She seems to like when I dress her up in her outfits, including all of the bows! She likes it when I brush her hair and when I give her manicures. I am still to chicken to clip her nails so I file them, and call them her "manicures". Also she doesn't cry much, but when she does it's usually a girly little squeal, until she gets really mad and then watch out-it's loud!

Another thing she used to hate and now she loves is her swing-I am so glad she does, it's the only reason Bert and I get to eat dinner together in peace :-) She loves to sit in it-and sleep in it. As a matter of fact, lately she won't nap in her crib-only the swing. We have to work on that! Also about 25% of the time, she is sleeping through the night! Yay! I love those nights since I am still doing the late night feeding and Bert does the early mornings. I can't wait till it's every night, but I'll take what I can get.

We are really looking forward to Halloween this weekend. We are having the Harrison's and Mansfield's over. I can't wait to see the girls and all of the neighborhood kids in their costumes! I'm sure I will have some great pics to post!

Camryn is now over five weeks old and almost ten pounds! She had her one month visit to the doctor the other day! She is officially nine pounds, ten oz. and 22 inches long, which is on right on track for her age. She had a shot while she was there and it was heartbreaking! Then she was up almost all night crying. It was horrible and her schedule is still messed up! I hope we get it back on track soon because she had actually slept through the night two nights in a row before that!

On a happier note, her Aunt Rebecca came to visit last weekend! We had such a nice time. She just loved Camryn! We mostly just hung out together and took a drive up to Elijay. We didn't actually go pick apples off the trees, but we bought apples and other goodies. I even baked a homemade apple pie! We also spent some time in the pumpkin patch.

Now this weekend Grandpa Eric is here for a visit! He has spoiled Cammie with clothes and stuffed animals! He is lucky becuase she just started smiling over the last few days and she has given him some big grins! He is very proud to have such a sweet grandbaby, I can tell.

Bert and I are doing good, a little tired because of Camryn's recent sleeping schedule. We got to enjoy a night out on out anniversary, courtesy of Karen and Ralph and we went to Bonefish for dinner. I am so happy to be married to Bert for two years now. He's a keeper. Well I'll keep posting about the progress of "little missy" as I like to call her. I can tell at this point she is starting to show her personality more and more.

3 1/2 weeks old...ALREADY!

Right now I am writing this blog with Camryn sitting in the baby bjorn strapped to me. We were going to go on a walk but now she is sleeping and I don't wan't to wake her up! I am looking down at her and can't believe how much she has grown since she first came home. She has officially moved out of her "newborn" diapers and into size ones. She is still in her newborn clothes, but I doubt for much longer. She is awake more during the day, and is very alert. I'm sure this was just an accident, but today I had her face down doing "tummy time" and she kicked her legs and rolled over onto her back! She definitely has some strong legs!

She has been liking her ocean playmat, she stares at the lights on it. She is starting to like the swing. She used to give me about 30 seconds before she started crying, and now I get a few minutes. She sleeps well at night. On a good night, she'll sleep from about 10:30-6:00 and wake up around 2:00 to eat. I take the 2AM feeding and Bert has been taking care of the 6AM before he gets ready for work.

I have decided to take her out of the house a few times to get her some fresh air and to make sure I don't get cabin fever. We have walked around the neighborhood, went on a drive, went to the park with daddy, and yesterday went to our first restauarant. She did good, but started to get hungry toward the end so Bert and I started eating at super speed to get out of there-even the waitress made a comment about how fast we finished.

She is really a good baby and pretty much only cries when she needs something. Sometimes it's a challenge to crack the code and figure out what it is that she needs!

This weekend Camryn gets to meet her Aunt Rebecca! We are all looking forward to her trip, and we are going to go for a drive up to Elijay to the BJ Reece Apple house, which is one of our favorite Fall festivities!

Two week birthday!

Boy, do I feel out of the loop! I can't believe my little baby is two weeks old today! I can already see some changes in her from when she was first born. She seems a little bigger, and that dark hair is a little longer. She looks more and more like her daddy every day, but I still see a little bit of myself in her. She has been a really good baby. She seems to get fussy about twice a day, and the past three nights she has been pretty good about sleeping. We actually have to wake her up a couple of times per night to feed her! I am hoping pretty soon she'll be sleeping through the night!

My mom and Frank are here now, cooking Bert and I lots of great food and helping with the baby. The actually gave us the night off the other night and Bert and I went out for sushi. It was great! I hadn't had any "real" sushi since December! I also had my first beer in nine months the other night. I was drinking it so slowly since I was afraid I was going to get bombed off of one beer-but I didn't. It was probably the best tasting beer I ever had, and it was only a Miller Lite!

I am feeling good, and proud to say, today is my first day with a non-maternity shirt on, and a wedding band that fits! Normal jeans here I come!

Bert has been a really huge help and I honestly give him a lot of credit. He does the morning feedings so I can get some sleep, and has been a really supportive husband while we both get adjusted to parenthood. I am a little nervous about next week when we don't have any of our parents here, but I know that we will be just fine :-)

Today is our second doctors appointment and I will post about it later on. At her first appointment, she had put on half an ounce since she left the hospital, which they said is great. They also scared the bejezus out of me about the swine flu, so don't expect to see me or the baby out in public for about 18 years.

Hopefully my future posts won't be so few and far between. I'm sure we'll be on some type of routine soon!

Doctor's appointment update: Camryn is doing great! She is now 7 lbs 6 oz, she gained a lot since last week but is only in the 19th percentile of weight for her age. She is my little peanut! She is 21 1/4 inches long which is the 81st percentile. For right now she is long and lean! I am very happy to get such a great report!

Wow, a lot has happened since my last blog! Wednesday night Bert and I went to the hospital to get induced. I started having contractions around 2AM and was really excited and geared up to have the baby! Early the next afternoon I got my epidural and was glad to be out of pain and figured Camryn was well on her way! A couple of hours later I started feeling bad pains and the doctor eventually discovered that my epidural was placed to high in my back, so I had to get another one! I was feeling good and was being told that the baby was coming soon but she had to "drop" a little more and I was watching my contractions go out of control on the monitor and was so grateful that I couldn't feel them until, I did feel them!! The pain was unbearable and I started acting like one of the crazy ladies in the movies begging anyone who would listen for a c section. The contractions were coming every 30 seconds, and the doctor wanted me to wait over an hour to see if the baby was going to drop. They didn't want to give me another epidural because if I could deliver, I wouldn't be able to push with a fresh epidural. Eventually they decided that my pelvis was too small and there was no way the baby could come out without a c section, so after 19 hours of labor, I DID end up getting ANOTHER epidural (not to mention between these three epidurals they were also adding meds to the ones I already had gotten) and was carted off to surgery. After about 15 minutes on the operating table I got to hear my sweet babies cries and it made it all worth it. I'll tell you what though, I can say right now, after that labor and delivery Camryn will be an only child-maybe after a couple of years I will have blocked it out of my mind and have another one. Maybe....

Camryn Makenna was born on 9/3/09 at 9:18 PM. She weighs 6 lbs, 15 oz (not as big as everyone thought!) and is 21 inches long. She has a full head of dark brown hair with dark colored slate eyes. Bert and I are just eating her up,and while we are totally exhausted, we are so happy with our little family. So far Miller has been good, he seems only slightly interested in the baby. Bert has been a big help, and I am so grateful for that. He must have been up and down the stairs a million times, since it's hard for me with the c section. His mom "Grandma Jennine" is here helping us out with the baby, cleaning, and cooking up a storm! My mom and stepdad, Frank are coming in Sunday to help us out too. I am looking forward to Cammie meeting them and for my mom's cooking! Matzo ball soup heals everything!

It's The Final Countdown!!

I went for my weekly doctor's appointment yesterday and got some really exciting news! Camryn is going to be delivered tomorrow! I am actually being admitted to the hospital this evening, and will be induced tomorrow morning! From what I can tell I am getting induced because A) Camryn is full term-big and healthy and B) At the new Northside Forsyth Hospital for the time being, my doctor's office is on a rotation with a number of other practices, and they said they prefer to deliver their own babies. We are SO excited and ready to meet the baby!

Today Bert is working and I just have to make sure everything is packed and ready to go! I think we are heading over there at about 6:30 tonight. It's pretty great that this is scheduled because it gives me time to mentally prepare for my hospital stay. On the other hand, now I have all day to mentally prepare for my hospital stay. Fortunately I haven't spent the night in a hospital since I was born in one! I'm sure everything will be just fine, and I know people deliver babies every single day, so I am going to do my best to relax and go with the flow!

We are also very lucky that we have grandparents coming to stay with us for the first two weeks who I'm sure will be a huge help and that Bert's new job that he has only been at for three days is kind enough to give him all of next week off to help out and bond with his baby girl!

Well I'll keep posting as I get a chance, there may be lots of "waiting time" at the hospital, or if things are really busy, my next post may be full of baby pictures!!

Mama Mia it's Week 38

This weekend has been one of the most relaxing I have had in a while. Friday night I came home to see a beautiful flower arrangement sent from Bert's family, "just because" which was really thoughtful! Then Saturday I had a massage which I was a little bummed because the girl I like had called in sick and her fill in wasn't that great, but hey, it's always nice to get a massage. Then Saturday night we went to Scalini's with Karen, Ralph and Sylvie and I got the eggplant parmesan which was supposed to induce labor. They say it should work within 48 hours, so I have about 8 hours to go, but I am taking it for what it was worth, and that was a yummy, fun night out with friends. Bert and I are testing all of the old wives tales, mostly for fun, and also because it would be nice to have Camryn come a little early, but we aren't taking it too seriously. The masseuse was telling me about some reflexology techniques so yesterday we looked them up on the internet and we were trying to poke at my ankles and hands in the right points to induce labor. Obviously they didn't work :-)

Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment and I am curious to see if I am any closer to going into labor in his opinion. If I have any interesting news, I'll be sure to post!

If These Walls Could Talk...

This has been an eventful and interesting week in preparing for baby Camryn. I have wanted to start getting Miller prepared for the baby for a while but I didn't want to start too early because I didn't want him to forget his lessons, so we finally started "school" on Saturday. The reason I am so set on making sure he's prepared is because has always been the center of attention and when he's not, he has been known to exhibit jealousy. I know in my heart that he'd never do anything to hurt the baby, but it's more about destroying her stuff-and his weapon of choice is pee. Saturday we took a baby doll that we bought, diapered it up, put lotion on it (trying to make it smell like baby) and played a CD that I ordered online called "Preparing Fido" which is of baby cries and other baby sounds meant to prepare pets for a baby. We hung out in the nursery and let Miller in for the first time and he looked really puzzled, and just kind of sniffed around. If there was a hidden camera in there, Bert and I could probably get admitted to the looney bin for the whole scene! Bert also set up the swing and bassinet this weekend and we let Miller check them out and he really wasn't that interested. Bert did a great job of setting everything up, I know he was biting his tongue not to swear when we saw that the swing came in twenty pieces.

Also I got my first weird pregnancy thing this weekend. I have had a very easy pregnancy, no morning sickness, no cravings, pretty energetic, so I am not complaining, but this is just weird. So Saturday I was at the nail salon and my wrist started hurting, but I thought nothing of it. Then that night I woke up twice during the night with completely numb hands. When I got up yesterday I "googled" it and apparently about 25% of pregnant women develop carpal tunnel symptoms since swelling can compress the nerves in your wrist. I woke up this morning and again one of my hands had no feeling, so I'm guessing this will go on until Cammie makes her debut.

Last week's doctors appointment went great, I saw my doctor and he said that the baby had dropped a little bit. I am going back today, so hopefully she's a little closer to coming out. Bert is so excited to meet the baby, he has me walking around Target to try to get her to drop faster and this weekend we are trying out the old Atlanta wives tale of going to Scalini's which is an Italian restaurant about 45 minutes away, and I have to eat the eggplant Parmesan, which supposedly induces labor. I'll pack my hospital bag....just in case! I am considered full term now, so I am up for anything!

UPDATE: I went to the doctor today, and while it doesn't appear that Camryn will be coming anytime too soon, she is most likely going to be a bigger baby. The midwife said she is already 7-7 1/2 pounds, and they want to do an ultrasound in two weeks to take measurements if she hasn't already come!

Our Tour of the Spa-spital. Week 36!

We are now on the four week countdown, and are pretty much ready for the baby to get here! We put the finishing touches on the nursery yesterday, and went to Babies R Us to buy most of the essentials that hadn't been purchased off of the registry. Mostly the "non-fun" stuff that people don't want to give as gifts like the sheets, car seat base, dishwasher racks, etc. We are pretty much all set except for the baby monitor, which I hear is a "must have".

Friday night Bert and I stayed home and decided to cook dinner together. We got a recipe for a monte cristo sandwich from my Cooking Light cookbook and decided to give it a try. It wasn't was good as the greasy Bennigan's version, but quite yummy nonetheless. Also Bert has been offering to make me fried pickles for months and I haven't taken him up on it because A) they are super bad for you and B) I honestly didn't think they would be as good as the restaurant version. I was wrong, they were so good!

So bad, but oh, so good!!

We also did the hospital tour on Saturday and that is one nice hospital. If not for the hospitally smell, I might think I was at a spa! Bamboo floors, flat screen TV's and even a jacuzzi tub in the birthing room. I'm sure I won't feel like I am at the spa when I am actually there in labor, but I like the facility and the fact that its five minutes from home.

I am feeling good, just really tired! Also this weekend was really hot. Almost 100 degrees! I told Bert that when Camryn is older and giving me a hard time I am going to remind her that I was nine months pregnant with her in the hottest month of the year! And they don't call it HOTlanta for nothing!

We found out this morning that Bert's good friend Chad's wife is in labor! They are joining the "baby girl club". And she is coming nearly two weeks early. I have labor envy! I just hope Cammie doesn't decide to come late, but I will just be happy when she arrives healthy.

Well I have my weekly doctor's appointment tomorrow, with my own doctor. I saw a different doctor last Tuesday and he seemed slightly concerned that the baby is still up so high in my belly. I didn't really discuss it with him at the time, but I will ask my doctor about it tomorrow.

Getting Excited to Meet my Little Melon!

Another week has come and gone and now we are only five weeks or so away from meeting little Camryn Makenna! She is now the weight of a honeydew, and when Bert and I went to Publix we lifted one, and couldn't believe how big she is getting! I am feeling good, just not sleeping great but I hear that's nature's way of preparing moms for getting up for those late night feedings. The weekend was really nice. Bert took me on our "first date" and surprised me with a rose for me and also one for Camryn as well as a sweet card. We went to Village Tavern which is a nice restaurant in Alpharetta and when I had "dinner envy" he practically traded his whole plate with me. Saturday we had our "nursing class" which was not exactly a bundle of fun but it was informative, so I am glad we went. Then we went to Sylvie's first birthday party and it was great to see everyone! Sylvie looked like she was having so much fun! She got this little toy baby stroller and was pushing it and running through the living room, it was pretty funny and really adorable. She was cracking herself up! Also Heather and Nate were there with Emersen. She is a really good baby and let me hold her for a long time. I thought it was amusing that once I was holding her Cammie started hiccuping, like she knew I was holding another baby and was trying to get attention. Today I went to one of my coworkers homes to meet with her and see how she is set up to work from home. She answered all of my questions, and got me really excited to switch over to work from home and have more time to be with the baby!

Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment, and I think I will probably start going every week now. I am taking a vacation day Friday just to take it easy and spend time with Bert so I have a nice short week!

Sportin' the Cankles at 34 Weeks

I can hardly believe I am at 34 weeks already, the last couple of months have really been flying by! Camryn is at approximately 4.75 pounds and growing fast. Still feeling good, but definitely slowing down, I am the proud owner of a lovely pair of cankles (calves that blend into my ankles) and some foot swelling, but other then that and some heartburn I am still feeling good! If the wives tale about the babies with hair giving the mom heartburn I picture Cammie to come out looking like Slash from Guns and Roses.

This past weekend was great, I had my work shower on Friday, and it was a fun time! Aimee and Mandy did a nice job putting it together and I'm sure Bert was happy that it wasn't "girls only" and he got to come. Aimee even got him a "dad to be" medal to wear around his neck and he loved it! We got some great gifts, and I keep telling Bert this baby is spoiled and she's not even born yet. I am happy that so many people love her (and us) and are helping us get everything we need to get ready for her arrival! Also my stepdad ordered us a video camera so once the baby comes I will put videos on my blog!!

Saturday we went to the drive in for Karen's birthday and it was lots of fun. I was so glad that there was a nice breeze and it was great to see everyone! I will definitely go back. Yesterday Karen and I took infant/child CPR. I am really glad that I took it, and I hope that I never have to use it!

I am glad to say that Bert is done with class for the semester, he has two finals this week and then he gets a break for a few weeks. This coming weekend Bert is taking me on a "first date". We both realized the other night that we couldn't pinpoint our first date, since we were friends first for so long, so he offered to take me on one! I have no idea where we are going but I'm sure it will be nice. So pretty much I will look like a hugely pregnant person on a "first date", pretty funny! Saturday we have a couples nursing class and if that doesn't sound like fun, I don't know what does! We also have my favorite "almost" one year old's birthday party, I can't wait to see her smash the cake!

Good Times With An Old Friend!

I just had the best weekend! Amanda came up from Tallahassee and we had such a great time. Friday was laid back, we just went out for Mexican and caught up. Saturday we did a little baby shopping for Cammie and Amanda's boy, Matty! We also went out to the pool for a couple of hours and then went to see the movie "The Proposal", which I thought was pretty good, and then met up with Karen at Seasons 52 for dinner. That place is soooo good and nothing on the menu is over 475 calories and the menu changes seasonally. A little gimmicky, but everything there is delicious!

Yesterday we took a day trip up to Helen and had lunch on the river and watched tons of people float by on their tubes and then we went to a bunch of the little shops and walked around. Helen is such an odd place, it's this little German town in the middle of nowhere which has a huge Oktoberfest celebration, and I figured this time of year it would be totally dead but actually it was pretty packed. The weather was a perfect 75 degrees, which is a little cool for July, but trust me, I am not complaining. By the end of the trip my feet were a little swollen, but other than that we held up pretty well! We got home around 6:00 and just realxed for a little while and then Bert grilled up some burgers and corn that we bought from a produce stand on the side of the road. The guy said it would be the best corn we ever had, and he may have been right, it was so good!

This morning Amanda left and I was a little bummed because we had so much fun, but as usual time went by too fast and I realized that we won't be seeing each other again until New Years when the babies get to meet! I am happy to say only seven weeks till my due date and six weeks until I go on maternity leave at work, that is of course, unless Cammie wants to come a little early :-) I am feeling healthy except some nights I really can't sleep, it's hard to get comfy when you have a huge baby bump and every time you move your bladder gets squished. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, with my actual doctor who I haven't seen in a couple of months so hopefully I will get a good report. I actually think I saw him at Seasons 52 on Saturday, but I thought I'd leave him be, he was on a date with his wife and probably didn't want to chat with one of his preggo patients in a parking lot!

This Friday I am looking forward to my baby shower thrown by my coworkers. It should be a lot of fun and I am so happy that two of my friends that work from home are driving i n from other states to attend!

This past week was a pretty uneventful one. I am getting to the point now where I go to work and come home and relax on the couch until bedtime. Bert has school so I am pretty much on my own watching girlie TV shows and playing online. I can definitely tell my energy is not what it was during my second trimester, so I think for the next eight weeks I will rest as much as I can and save my energy for when the baby comes. I hear I'll need it!

Yesterday was our childbirth education class, it was from 9:00 - 4:00, so it pretty much occupied the whole day. I was afraid that I was going to see some gory movies that were going to have me looking like this when we left the class:

But instead I actually felt more like this:
I had never seen a childbirth video before so I was imaging a screaming bloodbath, and really it wasn't like that on the videos. Also after listening to the instructor all day explain exactly how things work, I felt a lot more comfortable with the whole process. We left there just talking about how excited we are for Camryn to get here!

Camryn is still doing lots of twists and turns in my belly, but I can tell she is starting to run out of room to do her acrobatics. She likes to punch me in the pelvis every once in a while just to remind me she is in there. She has also been getting the hiccups lately which is so cute and it cracks me up. Maybe she is getting drunk on anmiotic fluid! Hic!

Of course, everything can't be so exciting... On Friday our washing machine broke! Bert tried to fix it and water was spewing everywhere! He is gonna give it one more shot on fixing it himself (but he promised no more floods!) and if that doesn't work, we have to call a repairman. We need to get it fixed very soon because I have a limited maternity wardrobe and I don't want to be the stinky girl on the block. Also - somehow pollen, or something that looks like pollen got in between the glass panes of our sliding glass door and is making it look filthy, and it looks like the whole door will need to be replaced. And finally (I hope!!) we need a set of new tires on the Murano, so pretty much when it rains it pours! Well I'll stop my griping now....

Sweet Progress

Another week has come and gone, and time is really starting to fly! We had an amazing weekend! Bert and I both had Friday off so we went down to Brookhaven to see Heather, Nate and Emersen. The baby is so cute and we got lucky, since Heather says she sleeps most of the day and she was awake for most of the time we were there. In the evening Bert had this idea to make our home into a tropical cruise which included listening to island music, making miami vices, which are half pina colada and half strawberry daiquiri (no alcohol of course!) and some island foods. It was also supposed to include playing some poker, but we went over to the neighbors instead to look at their wedding pics, and since they got married in Jamaica, I guess it went with the theme. The whole thing was Bert's idea so I give him credit for thinking outside the box and doing something different, besides the standard "go out to dinner" night.

Yesterday was the Fourth of July and we had Karen, Ralph and Sylvie over. We had some pool time and grilled out and watched fireworks. It was Sylvie's first time in the pool and she had a blast!

Today I cashed in a birthday gift card to Massage Envy and got a prenatal massage. They did a great job, I was so relaxed! After the massage I was going to go get my nails done, so I drove to the salon, parked, walked inside, and then realized, "I haven't been to this salon in over a year!!" That's how out of it I was from the massage! So I walked out, and drove to my current salon. Embarrassing!

The highlight of my weekend was making so much progress on Camryn's room. Thanks Ralph and Bert! I am really happy with the way things are coming along in there-here is a picture:

This week I have another doctor's appointment with a midwife, I think just a standard check up. At my last appointment Cammie was about 3.5 pounds, so we'll see how she is progressing. Only about 9 weeks left to our due date!!!

First of all, I thought seeing these pics would make me less curious on what our baby looks like, but actually now I am even more curious!! She definitely seems to have some features of both of us, but Bert thinks she has my face! I also had my second confirmation that she is definitely a girl, so I came home and ripped all the tags off of her bedding and we're starting to decorate her room!

Is it hot in here, or is is just me??

What a busy week this has been. Last Saturday my friends Heather and Karen threw me a baby shower! It was really nice! It was great to have my girlfriends together, and I was also really happy that my mom and sister were in town for it. We got cutest stuff for Camryn and it got me so excited that she really is coming SOON! Just about 10 more weeks, although I wouldn't complain if she came a little early. The past few weeks have been brutally hot, and I think it's just a taste of what I have in store this summer. I think I will either be sitting somewhere in air conditioning or in the pool.

Today I went for my glucose retest, and they pretty much said no news is good news, so hopefully I won't be hearing anything from them! I also met with a midwife who checked Cammie's heartbeat and did some feeling on my belly and was able to tell me that she is in the "head down" position, and showed us where her little butt is! We are so excited to see her this weekend on her 3D ultrasound. I have seen these before and have always thought they are a little creepy, but when it's my baby, I am sure it will be the coolest thing! I'll post the 3D pics as soon as I get them!

In other baby news, our good friends Heather and Nate had their baby, Emersen, yesterday. Karen and I are going to the hospital tonight to visit and see the baby. I saw some pics and she is a cutie! I am so glad that we all have babies close in age so they can play together and we can have momma time aka margarita time. Also, another great friend Amanda found out that she is having a little boy at the end of November, and the plan is for him and Camryn to get married, so we can all be family! Ha! I am a pushy mom already! Well other then the 3D ultrasound and one of Bert's friends 30th birthdays, this weekend should be pretty mellow. I am hoping to catch up on rest and get in some pool time!
