New Ultrasound Pics of Squiggy

We went for our second ultrasound this morning. Here is the baby sleeping. The ultrasound lady kept saying, "C'mon little stinker, wake up!" She said it in a nice way, she needed Squiggy to turn around to get some measurements. She actually measured me at 13 weeks, so my due date may be getting pushed up a few days, I should find out when I talk to the doctor in two weeks.
Look at the little hand waving hi to the grandparents! The ultrasound lady added the caption. Squiggy was probably raising his/her hand to say, "Shhhh, I am trying to sleep!"
I like this last one because you can see the leg and foot, and I am obsessed with pudgy baby thighs. I don't see much pudge there, but we have time! On a sidenote, I have a feeling Squiggy is a boy, and Bert thinks a girl. Only seven weeks or so until we find out!

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Over the weekend we went to Babies R Us to see how the whole registry thing works. We are not ready to register yet, but Heather and Nate needed to, and Karen and Ralph (the old pro's with a seven month old) offered to show them what they need and what is a waste of money. Well, it was definitely fun to see my friends, but we left there feeling pretty overwhelmed, realizing we need a TON of stuff! On the bright side, we have plenty of time and it was pretty exciting to look at all of that cute baby stuff! Now I am determined to have everything picked out so when we go register in a couple of months, we won't feel so overwhelmed.

We also had some friends over last weekend, and built a fire and made a big pot of chili and yummy grilled cheeses for everyone. It was nice to have everyone over, but I can tell we are getting older, everyone was gone by 10! That was OK with me though, I have been going to bed pretty early lately!

This Thursday we have a big doctors appointment, and I am really excited because they are doing an ultrasound and I haven't seen one since Squiggy was only the size of a grain of rice. I will post pictures as soon as I can!

Starting to get a little belly at 11 weeks!

Well today the big news was made public, I let everyone at work know about my pregnancy as well as a bunch of my friends. I am really happy not to hide it anymore! I wouldn't be able to hide it for too much longer, as you can see from these pictures, I look like I have a nice little baby bump starting to form! According to babycenter.com, Squiggy is now the size of a fig!

Music to my ears...

Good morning! Today is a Friday and I am not at work! This morning we went to the doctor for our monthly appointment and everything looked great. I was hoping for an ultrasound so I can see how much Squiggy has grown since according to babycenter.com he/she is the size of a kumquat, and really I have no idea how big a kumquat is. I am thinking maybe about the size of a walnut in it's shell. In any case the nurse used a very high tech stethescope type thing and hunted around for about 10 hours to find the heartbeat. Just kidding it was probably one minute, but it sure felt like 10 hours! Then Bert and I heard it, and it was music to our ears. It was close to 180 BPM this time, so if you believe the old wives tale, on our last appointment, we were having a boy, and now it has switched over to a girl. I asked the doctor about the heart rate determining the gender and he said it was not true at all. Bert seems to want a boy, but all I want is a healthy baby. There are great things about boys and girls, so either is fine with me! Speaking of gender, we found out that Heather and Nate are having a little girl, which is really exciting. I can't wait to start planning her shower with Karen!

So I have determined I am the luckiest preganant person ever. I really have no morning sickness (except for one time), nausea, aversions to food, etc. The only symptom that I really have is occasional heartburn, which while it's no picnic, it's totally bearable. Also I have been fighting a nasty cold all week, and since I didn't want to take any medication, it was pretty bad!

I have heard some great news from my mom, she offered to buy the crib and maybe the dresser too. I can't wait to start thinking about the nursery but I am going to try to put it on the backburner until we find out what we are having. We also got a cute onsie from baby Sylvie, and I can't wait to dress Squiggy up in it one day!

So this weekend is Valentines day weekend, and Bert sent me an edible arrangement to work yesterday, it was so yummy and beautiful. Today we are going to go down to the farmers market and spend time together and tomorrow we are going to Seasons 52 for dinner. I think we may also buy a new camera this weekend since mine is not working too well anymore and we will need a nice camera for good pictures of Squiggy and also for my blog! I am so ready for this weekend to spend time with Bert and relax!

Notorious!

So we are halfway through another week! Last weekend was pretty fun, we went out for Alison's birthday to a Japanese Steakhouse on Friday and on Saturday we went to see the Biggie Smalls movie "Notorious", so I got in touch with my inner gangster. It was nice to spend the day with Bert and we came home and made buffalo chicken dip together.

This week at work has been on the stressful side, since it is end of the month and it has been a little slow this week, but I am not going to worry over it. Also I have been so tired, so when it's slow sometimes I think I could just fall asleep at my desk! I am getting anxious to tell my coworkers and friends about Squiggy, but I'd like to wait at least until my next doctors appointment which is Feb. 13th.

Speaking of Squiggy, he/she has grown to the size of a kidney bean! I am still feeling pretty good, sometimes tired, with some occasional heartburn. I feel lucky not to get that wonderful morning sickness that I read so much about.

I can 't wait for Friday to get here, cause one of my best friends, Heather, will hopefully find out the sex of her baby. She said she thinks it's a boy, and I think I do too! She will be really annoyed if the baby is facing the wrong way, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for her!

Well, only 2 days till the weekend!
